Exceeding all expectations for the series of God’s Not Dead movies, A Light in the Darkness was released on Mar. 21, 2018. After a drunk college student walks home from a party late one night, suffering from a break-up and long searching for his true self, he becomes overwhelmed with anger, fear, and rage. As he passes the St. James Church on the campus of Hadleigh University, he throws a brick through the church window not knowing that it would kill assistant reverend Jude and burn down the beloved church. As the situation intensifies, Adam, the young college student, ends up being arrested for the crime he committed, and reverend Dave not only suffers through the loss of his friend Jude, but will struggle to fight for his church. The church’s presence is threatened by government and board of education officials trying to remove the church from Hadleigh University Campus.

Joshua Johnston went to see God’s Not Dead and gave positive reviews about the movie.

This movie gave viewers an eye opening look at what the world has become in today’s generation. “Everyone is shouting, and no one is listening,” a famous repetitive line used throughout the entire movie, sends a powerful clear message to the entire audience about how the world has become deaf to the problems people face everyday, suffering, and those in need of help.

Junior Joshua Johnston said, “God’s Not Dead made me think about how atheists see Christians and how they judge them. It showed me that no matter how hard things may seem, God is always there with you.”

It also encourages a change in people’s hearts to love and judge not, to help and encourage, and most importantly to stop and listen to the world, to stop shouting all at once.
